DHAKA, Bangladesh - According to police, a man has stabbed his wife to death after a domestic dispute in Dhaka's Mirpur.
Sathi Akter, 24, has been identified as the victim. On Thursday, pedestrians discovered her injured and bleeding on a Mirpur street and took her to the Islamia Hospital, where she died later.
In connection with the incident, police later arrested her husband, Abdul Hannan.
"The couple lived in Bagerhat. Sathi arrived in Mirpur three days ago following a fight with her husband." Sub-Inspector Md Ziaur Rahman of Pallabi Police Station stated confirming the incident.
According to the police, Hannan arrived in Dhaka looking for Sathi and was carrying a knife. "The couple ran into each other again on the road in Mirpur-7. Then he stabbed her," Ziaur stated.
The victim has a son who lives in the village.
Sathi's body was taken to the morgue at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.
