SYLHET, Bangladesh - Two people have been arrested concerning the seven-day rape of a woman and her 15-year-old daughter in Osmani Nagar, Sylhet district.
Matin Miah, manager of the Supreme Filling Station in Osmani Nagar's Goala Bazar neighborhood, and Bulbul, 40, owner of the Bogra hotel in the same area, were both arrested.
The mother used to work at the Bogra hotel and lived with her daughter in a rented house next to the hotel, according to Mueen Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Osmani Nagar police station.
He claimed that the perpetrators kidnapped the mother and her daughter and raped them for seven days, from June 14 to June 20.
After escaping their clutches, the mother filed a complaint against the two rapists on August 4.
According to the OC, who confirmed that the arrestees had been taken to court, the rape survivors are now being treated at Sylhet MAG Osmani Hospital.
